St James Lutheran Church and School Crusader Auction Event 2017

I am approached regularly for a donation for local events and auctions, to which I usually accept. I believe that kindness and support in our community is important. The 8th Annual St James Crusader Auction is one I've given to in the past as I have a friend who reaches out to me each time this year. (HI STACEY!) They have an IMPRESSIVE list of (at last view) nearly 700 (!) auction items, one of which is a Prickly Pear Glass Cactus. Their event is April 22nd, 2017 beginning at 4 pm at The Trails Banquet Facility in Battle Ground, Indiana. Open to the public!

West Elm Indianapolis Pop-up Shop Thank You

Thank you to West Elm at the Fashion Mall in Indianapolis for hosting me in their store over the weekend. What a wonderful day of showing my work in such a beautiful setting and their customers are so design savvy! Their local maker initiative is such a needed partnership between respected retailers and innovative small design businesses looking to increase exposure. You're doing a good thing there and it's appreciated.  Also, thanks a bunch for putting me in that beautiful atrium room with the natural light. It was perfect for a cold March day. Looking forward to working together again very soon. I certainly can't forget the flurry of local faces who surprised me by showing up, making purchases and...

Here come the holidays!

We love the winter holidays at willow modern and working in the shop is a bit like being elves for Christmas. We are constantly creating and sharing new ideas amidst brightly colored glass goods.  When you purchase from us, you are supporting a small business where all of our pieces are original and handmade in Indiana, USA. We take great pride in our packaging and quality so you'll be assured that your gifts will come tagged and boxed in the same way that we'd like to receive something in the mail.  Many of our customers have orders shipped to other addresses, which we love. If that is you, please let us know what we can put on a note...

Preparing to bid October a farewell

The Netflix Yule Log has already started playing on repeat in my living room and I'm sending out lots of items to shops for the upcoming holiday season. As such, so long, almost, to October; the month where I remember that I like cooking most dinners in my blue Dutch oven gifted by my mother-in-law last Christmas (thanks Cindi!), how to properly layer clothing for maximum style and warmth and that I hate closing the windows because of cooler weather.  We do hope that you'll join us for our open house in December and please invite a friend! Did you know that most of our customers are found this way? Thank you to all of you who continue to share...

Pot Roast with Potatoes and Carrots

Why am I sharing a recipe on a glass website? Well, basically, because we all eat and I like to share stuff that might be helpful to someone. This is definitely my favorite pot roast recipe, just like it should taste. This is the one that I make on Halloween night after Trick-or-Treating so it always reminds me of fall leaves, fun costumes and stolen Snickers candy bars (hey, I don't know why none of them ever make it back to the house either).  Give it a try. Here's the recipe and thanks to Cooking Classy for always having easy, delicious food options. And that Good Grief cup? I LOVE IT and I give it to the one who is...
